Selecting a business incubator for you in Canada
Selecting a business incubator for you in Canada
What Business Incubators Exist?
The Canadian government has approved more than 40 Canadian business incubators that can give you a letter of support.
Each business incubator has its own process for accepting business projects and the criteria used to evaluate them. Each business incubator has the right to choose projects, including in the field of business.
It is very important to choose the right business incubator in order to receive both an invitation and sufficient expertise on their part to successfully receive a letter of support.

What Does Innovative Business Mean?
By innovation people often mean something unique from the category of space flights or new aircraft turbines, but this is not the case here.
Innovation is a significant improvement in an existing product or service. Particularly this improvement contributes to increasing the efficiency of processes or enhancing the quality of products in demand on the market.
Let us outline three ways to understand if your idea is innovative and give examples below:
Potential: Innovative ideas can be ground-breaking (not necessarily, but they can), meaning they can transform the industry or market they target.
Imagine that you have a vehicle fleet you rent out. Previously your customers had to rent it for at least one day and drive across the city to your parking lot. But now you have created a net of parking lots with the cars available around the entire city, provided an access to the vehicles via your app and let the customers rent the transport for any period of time.
It is no longer considered to be an innovation today, however a few years ago it was an innovative business approach that has completely changed the current situation on the market.
Market Demand: Your idea may address a current or future need that is not met to some extent. The main indicator of a market demand is the customers' willingness to pay for a product or service.
Imagine that you have opened a coffee point. It is obvious that people care about the coffee rather than waiting for it to be prepared. Therefore, some coffee chains have created their own apps that allow their customers to make an order on their way to the coffee shop, so that having entered it, they can immediately pick it up without waiting.
Any idea you have that reduces the time or effort of the client can be referred to an innovative one. To make it clear, let us give a couple of more examples:
McDonald's which reduced the waiting time for customers.
Ikea with their furniture you can assemble on your own without waiting for an assembler.
Amazon which let their customers purchase the products staying at home.
The list seems to be endless.
To sum up, an innovative idea can be recognized by three factors: novelty, revolutionary potential, and market demand.

Additional
Benefits
You can come to Canada in 3-4 months
There can be no more than 5 applicants (5 founders) from one business project. It is necessary for each of them to own at least 10% of the project.
This means that upon arrival in Canada, you will need to open a legal entity with the corresponding shares.
The applicant or applicants will be required to set up a company where they own more than 50% of the total voting rights. The situation which implies that a business project is owned by some venture fund by more than 50% is unacceptable.
Each co-founder of a business project who plans to immigrate must pay for the education and be trained in a business incubator.

In theory, IELTS English language test is intended to show the level of your English language proficiency, but in practice it reflects the level of your preparation for testing.

Please note that you do not need to take IELTS for studying at a business institute, it concerns Permanent Residence only.
Some good news for you: this program requires you to meet a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 5 in either English or French, which corresponds to B1 level.

I met Fedor Valentinovich as part of a university course. The main task is to make a startup out of an idea. At the first acquaintance with his author's course, honestly, I was skeptical when I heard that at the end of the course, everyone will be able to submit their startup

Everything went so smoothly that it was embarrassing. When I just thought about studying in another country and moving, I was terrified of what I had to go through. BUT! Much to my surprise, everything turned out to be much simpler, and also, so quickly that I didn’t even have time to understand that everything was over and they were waiting for me in Canada.
Before turning to Fedor, I collected 1001 articles, a bunch of documents, and this only made it worse and more incomprehensible. And now, so calmly) I recommend everyone to walk this path hand in hand with a person who knows what to do, save time, money and nerves.
There were 2 weeks of intensive study with homework, during the whole time Fedor answered all my questions, directed me in the right direction. Now I have officially completed this training and am preparing documents for receiving a letter of support from the incubator.
I am extremely glad that I got this opportunity thanks to the help of Fedor! I wholeheartedly recommend him as an excellent consultant.
I met Fedor at the course "Creating a technology business", which took place as part of my studies at the ITMO master's program. My project is in the field of FoodTech and named it "FlashFood". The idea of the project was born in my head about a year before I met Fedor. Fedor helped me discover the idea, conduct a quick and efficient CustDev that validates the hypotheses on which the idea is based, and draw up a financial plan.
Thanks to the knowledge that I received on Fedor's course, I was able to apply quite quickly. Moreover, Fedor helped prepare a bright and meaningful presentation. If you have an idea or a ready-made project, but no funding, I recommend contacting Fedor or at least taking his course.
Preparation of your business project for admission takes from 1-2 months, training from 2 weeks, preparation of a business plan from 2 to 4 weeks. A step-by-step plan leading to Canadian citizenship can be found here.
According to our observations, training takes place once a quarter, there is no regular schedule. Usually, business incubators inform about group recruitment 2 months in advance.
The intensity depends on the selected business incubator. Somewhere the program lasts 3 months with classes 2-3 times a week, and somewhere for 2 weeks with daily classes.
To enter the business incubator, you do not need to pass a language exam, an IELTS certificate will be required to process entry documents.
We guarantee your admission to the business incubator, according to the agreement, we will refund you most of the money paid.
There are no entrance exams, you need to properly prepare the documents, fill out an application, collect materials and a presentation.
Our services are paid in stages, according to the result of the work performed.
